The Acting Publicity Secretary of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Alhaji Sidi Yayah Tunis has on Monday 14 February 2022 addressed the Bo Dstrict Executive Committee of the APC at the party regional headquarter in the Southern Region.
Tunis was recently detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following allegation of incitement in his interview at 98.1.
He said that the meeting in Bo is the first public appearance he has made since he was released.
Tunis thanked the APC’s stakeholders in Bo for their support, and called for peace and unity in the party, which he said is very important.
The Publicity Secretary said the meeting is supposed to bring all of the APC members together in Bo district in order to push the agenda of the party forward. He said the National and Regional executive approved the meeting, noting since they approved no one can disrupt the meeting.
He said the law permit them as a party to hold meeting within their party premises, even though the police said they should not meet.
Tunis spoke about the convention in Makeni where 908 delegates voted for a new constitution. He said they abide by the PPRC to publish the constitution openly in order for their members to review it, nothing that lot of members objected to the constitution.
He added that they have reviewed the Constitution and it will be published in two weeks time, stating that the constitution will be the new constitution of the APC.
He said the constitution will will give power to parry members that want to vie for election symbols in the party.
Tunis noted that by June they are expected to elect their flag bearer for the 2023 elections. He noted the new constitution ensure a level playing field for all members of the party. He said the main focus of the party will be to take power for the ruling government in 2023.
