Sierra Leone is actively participating in the 2nd UN Tourism and ICAO Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Luanda, Angola, with the aim of boosting air connectivity and tourism across the continent.
The Honorable Nabeela Farida Tunis, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, is representing the nation, joining a gathering of tourism and transport ministers, aviation sector representatives, and public and private stakeholders.
The conference is primarily focused on addressing the long-standing challenges that hinder intra-African connectivity and access. It also serves as a crucial platform to promote Sierra Leone’s tourism potential and contribute to the overall advancement of air transport in Africa.

During the conference, Minister Tunis is scheduled to participate in a high-level panel discussion titled “Tourism as a Catalyst: Aligning Air Transport and Policy for Seamless Travel in Africa.”
She will be joined by H.E. Mr. Marclo de Jesus Lopes Daniel, Minister of Tourism of Angola; H.E. Dr. Jose Luis Sa Nogueira, Minister of Tourism and Transport of Côte d’Ivoire; and Ms. Nompumelelo (Mpumi) Z. Mpofu, CEO of Airports Company South Africa.
