The National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) has announced that Sierra Leone will join the rest of Africa in commemorating the 7th African Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Day on August 10, 2024.
This year’s theme, “Strengthening the Linkage of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics to Legal Identity Systems through Digitalization for Enhanced Inclusion,” has been localized to “Linking Sim Card to NIN” in Sierra Leone.
The annual observance aims to raise awareness about the importance of CRVS in making every citizen visible and accessible to government services. The NCRA has invested in legal frameworks, technology, and improved processes to ensure the CRVS system effectively serves both national and international needs.
The public is encouraged to participate in the commemoration of this important day.
