The Government of Sierra Leone has declared Wednesday 27th April 2022 as a public holiday for celebrating and commemorating Sierra Leone’s independence.
This was contained in a public noticed from the State House released today 26th April 2022.
Independence Day is a public holiday in Sierra Leone. It is observed on 27 April. This day is the National Day of Sierra Leone and commemorates independence from Great Britain on 27 April 1961.
