Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation, will host the West Africa Internet Governance Forum 2026 (WAIGF 2026). The forum is scheduled to take place from 11–15 May 2026 in the country.

The event will bring together policymakers, regulators, technologists, civil society leaders, businesses, researchers, and youth to engage in multi-stakeholder discussions on digital access, trust, innovation, and the policies shaping West Africa’s digital future.

The West Africa IGF is the premier platform for stakeholders across the region to discuss Internet governance policies, digital development, and innovation. It provides a space for governments, civil society, the private sector, the technical community, academia, and youth to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and contribute to regional and global digital policy processes.

Preparatory activities for WAIGF 2026 are currently underway. Further information, including the theme, programme structure, and participation modalities, will be shared in due course.
