In a move aimed at enhancing the visibility and professionalism of the Sierra Leone Immigration Department, new uniforms were officially launched for all trained immigration personnel.
The ceremony, held at the Freetown City Council Auditorium, was attended by high-ranking government officials, including the Minister of Local Government, Emmerson Lamina, and the Chief Immigration Officer, Honourable Alusine Kanneh.
During the launch, Minister Lamina highlighted the significance of the uniforms as a step toward institutional rebranding and increased public recognition of immigration officers. He noted that the new attire would facilitate easier identification of personnel, reinforcing the Department’s role in national security and service delivery.
Chief Immigration Officer Kanneh expressed pride in the uniform rollout, emphasizing it as a reflection of the Department’s dedication to modernization and increased accountability.
According to Kanneh, the uniforms will contribute to a sense of unity and professionalism among staff while helping the public easily recognize immigration officials in their duties.
The event, celebrated with a pictorial display, marks an important milestone in the Department’s effort to enhance its public image and operational effectiveness.
