The government of Sierra Leone has announced an increase in fuel prices effective Monday, 3 August 2026, with petrol rising from NLe33.00 to NLe35.00 per litre and diesel from NLe35.00 to NLe40.00 per litre.
The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Oil Marketing Companies reviewed the petroleum pricing formula, taking into account changes in international fuel prices and the exchange rate, according to a public notice issued by the Petroleum Regulatory Agency.
The government said it is providing a subsidy of NLe2.11 per litre for petrol and NLe3.04 per litre for diesel to keep prices affordable.
The Petroleum Regulatory Agency said fuel prices will continue to be reviewed regularly, and if international fuel prices decline, future price adjustments will reflect those changes.
The notice did not specify when the next review would take place.

🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😄 they are playing
They are acting comedy 😂😂😂
What a disgrace? They just add price without justification. The government does not even care about the people anymore.
Why always our leaders treat us as if we don’t understand or rather not following the trends/happenings around the world.
When it comes to increasing prices, they’ll do it with no delay – and when it comes to reducing prices, they’ll wait or delay till Native Consortium pile pressure on them, even at that, they’ll reduce it in their own interest and not for the masses. May God Almighty heal our beloved SL.
Hmmm oh salone
This increment is baseless unjustifiable heartlessness of our leaders for the proverbial man, and a broadday robbery of our hard earn resources, What a scan ? When Fuel pump price went down ten days back from today, these so called regulator’s pretended as if nothing had happened in terms of price reduction, no update no news, but with their purported increment there is no window period of observation and consultation. what a deception to it’s core? Our regulator’s in the fuel pricing are a disgrace to us as sierra Leoneans, are these individuals not mindful of the fact that , increase in the price of fuel affects our daily living and welfare?. If the prices are justifiable then May God bless you, but if it’s personal interest seeking, may God judge them all.
