A four-week intensive Senior Leadership Training for members of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) concluded on Friday at the Senior Officers Mess in Kingtom Police Barracks, marking a significant milestone in the professional development of the force’s senior officers.
The closing ceremony, attended by key security officials and participants, featured a keynote address delivered by Dr. Ahmed A. Sannoh, Deputy National Security Coordinator. Speaking on behalf of the National Security Coordinator, Dr. Sannoh commended the officers for their commitment to strengthening the country’s security apparatus. He also praised the efforts of Alhaji Yusuf Manjalow and YUMAJ Consultancy Group for their role in facilitating the training.
“In celebrating the intellect and vision of each of you — the senior members who form the backbone of our country’s security sector — we have sharpened not only our technical skills but also reaffirmed our shared mission to uphold stability and protect our citizenry,” Dr. Sannoh remarked.
He highlighted the critical need for strategic insight and adaptive thinking in addressing emerging security challenges, urging the officers to apply the knowledge gained in their leadership roles.
Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Sahr Y. Senesie, Director of Training, emphasized the significance of the program’s conclusion, which also marked the completion of two distinct leadership trainings for senior officers. AIG Senesie called on the participants to utilize their newly acquired skills to enhance service delivery across the force.
Alhaji Yusuf Manjalow, the lead consultant for the YUMAJ Group, congratulated the officers, emphasizing the importance of leadership in advancing national security interests. “This training marks a significant milestone in your policing careers,” he said, urging the officers to lead with courage, humility, and a commitment to democratic principles.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from Superintendent Hawa Tina Momoh, Head of Gender, followed by a group photo with the participants.
The training is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of the Sierra Leone Police in addressing contemporary policing challenges and improving operational effectiveness across divisions.
