The discovery took place at No. 10 Fourth Street, Mountain Court, Freetown, on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023.
Addressing the media during the weekly press conference held at the Sierra Leone Police Headquarters on George Street, Freetown, on November 8th, 2023, Acting Director Emmanuel Cole provided crucial details about the operation. Cole disclosed that all the seized drugs were found to be past their expiration dates, and an elaborate scheme had been employed to deceitfully extend their viability for public consumption.
Emmanuel Cole affirmed the imminent legal consequences for the alleged perpetrator, identified as Osman Kamara. Kamara is set to face charges in court, and the expired pharmaceuticals will be dismantled in collaboration with various stakeholders to prevent any potential harm to the public.
Highlighting the involvement of the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone, Cole emphasized that their thorough examination confirmed the expiration of all the seized drugs.
