Qatar and Sierra Leone have pledged to strengthen cooperation in the labor sector, following a meeting between Qatari Minister of Labor Dr. Ali Bin Smaikh Al Marri and his Sierra Leonean counterpart, E. Mohamed Swaray.
The discussions, which took place during Swaray’s recent visit to Qatar, focused on recent developments in the labor sector and explored avenues for enhanced collaboration between the two countries.
The deepening relationship between Qatar and Sierra Leone dates back to 2022. Last July, Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, sent a congratulatory cable to Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, on his re-election to a second term.
The meeting between Al Marri and Swaray underscores the commitment of both countries to fostering closer ties in the labor sector, a move that is expected to benefit both nations and their respective workforces.
