The Pujehun District Scout commissioner of the Sierra Leone Scout Association has said that the commission has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone and the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion for the observation of the 2023 general and local council elections.
Lansana Kamara said that the MOUs will enable the scout association to provide queue controllers for the electoral commission of Sierra Leone and become peace preaching ambassadors across the country for the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion in order to conduct violent-free elections in the country.
He said that as the general elections approach, they are going to embark on community sensitization of youths and women on good decision-making skill in order for them to be able to select good leaders and not engage in any Act of violence.
Lansana Kamara encouraged young people to be part of the Sierra Leone scout association and contribute to positive national change and development in the country.
