Some Sierra Leoneans in the United Kingdom have stage a peaceful protest in front of the Commonwealth Headquarters in London.

According to Owl Press, the protest was against the rigging of the June 24 multitier election held earlier this year.

The protest is geared towards forcing the Commonwealth and the international community to expedite their decision to take robust action on election riggers in Sierra Leone and save the fragile democracy,” Owl reported.

Report also indicated that the protest also attracted Sierra Leoneans in other European countries.

Photos shared on social media showed a large crowd with placards gathered outside the Commonwealth office in the British capital.

Post-election protests have also been held in the past on London’s Downing Street calling on the resignation of President Julius Maada Bio.
