The Chief Justice who doubles as a Judge of the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone (RSCSL), His Lordship Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards and two other Appeal Court Judges have today paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Rupert Sydney Dowu Davies, at the High Commission located on Diplomatic Zone, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Chief Justice was accompanied by Honourable Jamesina Essie Leonora King and Honourable Justice Komba Kamanda of the Court of Appeal.
During their engagement, the Chief Justice briefed the High Commissioner on the purpose of their visit to Nigeria stating that they were in Abuja, Nigeria to attend a 3-day Maritime Seminar for Judges, organized by the Shippers’ Council of Nigeria in collaboration with the National Judicial Institute (NJI).
The conference starts on Tuesday 8th and ends on Thursday 9th July, 2022 in Abuja.
In his response, His Excellency, the High Commissioner Rupert Davies, welcomed His Lordship the Chief Justice, and team to the Sierra Leone High Commission and assured them of his mission’s support during their stay in Abuja, Nigeria.
High Commissioner Davies also presented copies of the News Magazine to His Lordship Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards titled ” Sierra Diplomatic Magazine” published by the High Commission in Abuja.
His Lordship the Chief Justice Desmond Babatunde Edwards and team had a warm interaction with the High Commissioner H.E. Rupert Davies and the Diplomatic staff.
Present were the Deputy High Commissioner His Excellency Anna Moussa, the outgoing Counsellor and Head of Chancery Mohamed Sorie Conteh, the First Secretary Mrs. Mariam Jalloh, the Defense Attaché Col. Alhaji Musa Mohamed Gbassa.
