In a case presented before Justice Cosmotina Jarrett in the High Court, two individuals have been charged with alleged human trafficking offenses.
The State is currently prosecuting Favour Naomi Allieu and Alimamy Ibrahim Kamara for their involvement in migrant smuggling activities.
The trial is ongoing, with the matter being brought before the criminal sessions of the High Court in Freetown on September 17, 2024. The charges are related to Anti-Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling offenses as outlined in Act No. 12 of 2022.
The first count of conspiracy to commit migrant smuggling alleges that Favour Naomi Allieu and Alimamy Ibrahim Kamara conspired with unknown individuals between May 1 and September 30, 2024, in Freetown.
The second count accused Favour Naomi Allieu of obtaining financial benefit indirectly from Mohamed Ramadan Sellu to facilitate his illegal stay in a foreign country during the same period.
Alimamy Ibrahim Kamara, the second accused, is also alleged to have received financial benefits directly from Betty Lebbie, Doris Bayon, and Salome Bayon to facilitate the illegal stays of various individuals in foreign countries.
The prosecution further asserts that Favour Naomi Allieu separately obtained financial benefits indirectly from Hannah David and Tamba Bayon to facilitate their illegal stays in foreign countries. The trial is ongoing, and Justice Cosmotina Jarrett is presiding over the proceedings to ensure a fair and just trial for all parties involved.
There is no need to pity them, send them directly to prison atleast a lifetime. Most of our brothers and sisters who are in those foreign countries suffering today are as a result of those fake promises given to them by these guys, the picture they bring in front of you is different from what you will meet on the ground. This is pure wickedness, just because they want the money, they can do everything. As we speak, there are hundreds of Sierra Leoneans languishing in Guinea for these same purposes, our authorities should alert our border patrols in combating this trafficking crimes.

If possibly alert the Guinean authorities so they can see how best they can coordinate and go in search of them in the hidings, the agents do hide themselves in Guinea and the Sierra Leoneans with them and they threatened them that they should not tell their family members or loved ones that they are still in Guinea else they will loose they chance of travelling and forfeit their money. Our authorities must first try to protect our citizens in neighboring countries, now that we have a bit of diplomatic blunder between Sierra Leone and Guinea, this is an opportunity to write our wrongs and re-strengthened our diplomatic relationship with Guinea onces more. The Sierra Leone police, Guinean authorities should quietly work in combating this menace that is destroying government legacies, the future of the young ones
