In a case presented before Justice Cosmotina Jarrett in the High Court, two individuals have been charged with alleged human trafficking offenses.
The State is currently prosecuting Favour Naomi Allieu and Alimamy Ibrahim Kamara for their involvement in migrant smuggling activities.

The trial is ongoing, with the matter being brought before the criminal sessions of the High Court in Freetown on September 17, 2024. The charges are related to Anti-Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling offenses as outlined in Act No. 12 of 2022.

The first count of conspiracy to commit migrant smuggling alleges that Favour Naomi Allieu and Alimamy Ibrahim Kamara conspired with unknown individuals between May 1 and September 30, 2024, in Freetown.

The second count accused Favour Naomi Allieu of obtaining financial benefit indirectly from Mohamed Ramadan Sellu to facilitate his illegal stay in a foreign country during the same period.

Alimamy Ibrahim Kamara, the second accused, is also alleged to have received financial benefits directly from Betty Lebbie, Doris Bayon, and Salome Bayon to facilitate the illegal stays of various individuals in foreign countries.

The prosecution further asserts that Favour Naomi Allieu separately obtained financial benefits indirectly from Hannah David and Tamba Bayon to facilitate their illegal stays in foreign countries. The trial is ongoing, and Justice Cosmotina Jarrett is presiding over the proceedings to ensure a fair and just trial for all parties involved.
