A high-profile United States Congressional delegation on Saturday night arrived in Freetown as part of a four-nation West Africa tour.
The delegation headed by Representative Gregory W. Meeks, who is the Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, landed at the Freetown International Airport in Lungi at around 10pm.
According to ManoReporters, they were received by a high-powered Sierra Leone government delegation, among them Vice President Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and Foreign Affairs Minister Prof. David Frances.
The Resident Minister Northwest, Alpha Kanu, was also part of the officials who received the guests at the airport. The Sierra Leoneans were introduced to the visitors by US Ambassador David Reimer.
