United States of America Ambassador to Sierra Leone David Reimer has visited the Marampa Mines in Port Loko, the Northern part of the country.

Ambassador David Reimer visited the Marampa Mines in Port Loko to get a better understanding of the operations of the company.

Marampa Mines, which undertakes exploration, development, and production of premium grade iron ore concentrate, is a subsidiary of the Gerald Group which is an American Company.

The Ambassador met with the CEO of the Mines, Craig Dean, who took him around the mines.

Ambassador Reimer said, “It is always the Embassy’s role to ensure that American businesses are competing on a level playing field and to advocate on behalf of U.S. companies… I am thrilled to have an opportunity today to see this amazing operation – which is creating Sierra Leonean jobs, elevating labor standards, giving back to surrounding communities, and growing the economy – in action.”
