As today the 18th February marks the Sierra Leone Armed Forces Day, the United States Embassy in Sierra Leone has announced the close of its office in observance of this memorable Day. 

The Embassy stated that it will be closed today and Monday the 21st February in observance of the United States President’s Day as well. 

February 18th is set aside as a National Public holiday to commemorate and appreciate the Sierra Leone Armed Forces who fought in the Second World War and those who fought in over a decade of civil war in Sierra Leone in the 1990s.
