Amidst the festive joy of the yuletide season, the University of Sierra Leone (USL) received a heartfelt message from its Acting Vice Chancellor and Principal, Professor Lawrence Kamara. In a warm and optimistic address, Prof. Kamara expressed his deep appreciation for the collective efforts of the university community and the government throughout 2023.
“I want to congratulate the entire University community and the government for our concerted efforts throughout the year,” he stated. “Together, we have demonstrated unwavering commitment and resilience, and through our combined efforts, we can do even more to regain our past glory.”
Prof. Kamara’s message emphasized the divine blessings received throughout the year, acknowledging the goodness of God and expressing continued prayers for guidance, protection, and provision as USL steps into 2024. He declared his optimistic outlook for the coming year, envisioning a future brimming with “more zeal, hopes, and opportunities for the University.”
His address also offered specific praise for the University’s student body, commending their dedication to academic pursuits and encouraging them to remain steadfast in their endeavors.
This emphasis on student success comes at a pivotal moment for Prof. Kamara, who assumed his role as Acting Vice Chancellor on December 12th, 2023, following the appointment of Professor Foday Sahr as Executive Director of the newly established National Public Health Emergency.
