The chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council Chairman, Kasho Joseph Holland Cole, has gallantly returned to office months after his landslide victory in the June, 2023, multi-tier elections in Sierra Leone.
Chairman Cole earlier refused to participate in governance immediately after his reelection, because the All People’s Congress- APC- a political party whose ticket he had used for his reelection instructed them to abstain from all governance activities for alleged election irregularities.
Known for his hard-work and industry, many have applauded his return, naming it a breath of fresh air.
Chairman Cole’s leadership is set to continue on the path of sustainable development, one profound and measured intellectual.
The perspectives, contexts and nuances he brings to common and national issues are as refreshing as they are uniquely non-commonplace.
His first assumption of office as district council chairman in 2018 has left him a niche in public service delivery. In his initial five years in governance, Chairman Kasho J. Holland Cole, with his team of committed staff initiated and implemented a wide range of development activities- from political to socio-economic.
He assured youth and women empowerment, built schools, health centers, market spaces among others. He equally ensured youth employment, commanding decent wages and condition of service in his district. Which implies that only men given to deep intellect and omnibus erudition can deliver those nuggets and rich development trajectories even on an impulse.
Chairman Cole has matched his intermittent optical politicking with corresponding good governance in the district even where his opponents had spoken high falutin expressions and conflated all kinds of experimental political theories.
One could say a reason the people entrusted him a second term. He once said that he got into politics in order to lift his people out of poverty with a mantra : “One District Where Your Neighborhood or Your Background Doesn’t Define Your Future.” That, he says, defines and projects his dream to work assiduously for the people of WARDC.
Being a colossus administrator, Kasho Holland Cole has over years garnered himself a wealth of experience in both public and private sector development.
Kasho has also decently educated himself with degrees and certificates from across reputable universities from within and without Sierra Leone.
He has worked as an outstanding football administrator at its highest level. He had served the Sierra Leone Police and its military. He stands as a media juggernaut – inspiring a new generation of media professionals.
Chairman Kasho J. Holland Cole is the substantive Western Area Regional Chairman of the All People’s Congress Party- APC- one of Sierra Leone’s oldest and biggest political parties.
