The Leader for the National Grand Coalition Party (NGC), Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella has rated the governance of President Bio in five years to 75-85 per cent in every service delivery to the nation.
Making this assertion, Kandeh said, the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) has laid some foundation and they have also made some mistakes like any other government could do or have done.
“The SLPP has laid some foundation, they have made some mistakes like any Government. If you are scared of making mistakes you will never lead” he said, adding that what is important in governance is to recognise the fact that you have taken an action to a certain point and that you can have a bigger push to a steady state to which he maintained that, the country is currently at the point.
“I am very pleased with some of the progressive agenda, I have backed some of those in parliament, but we can do much more and it’s the much more that quantum leap is what President and I have been discussing and also the talent we needed to go to the next level”. He said.
He furthered that, things are difficult as population is growing gradually but that the nation can make another leap and that is the point they are currently, and that he is very proud to be part of that system that can take the nation to other level which he referred to as the “higher level”.
On the area of percentage awarding to the governance system he said, as he was in the opposition and observing happenings in the country by the government and its activities, he assessed the governance system to 75-85 and stressed that he recognised that although there were odds but not everything was wrong.
“If I seat and say they did nothing then parliament did nothing, people forget the legislations and some of us again come out about some of the legislations that we passed. You will see a lot was done by parliament, the government and the opposition “. He stressed and added that what is missing is the implementation and actionable intervention that will give the outcomes the nation wants.
