Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Climate Change, Renewable Energy, and Food Security, has issued a strong warning to former Guinea Ambassador Alimamy Bangura, advising him to stay away from Kambia and refrain from interfering in government matters.
In a recent video posted from his government office, Yumkella shared troubling information about Bangura’s involvement in a criminal investigation. Reports indicate that Bangura was ordered to leave Guinea after an investigation uncovered suitcases of cocaine found in a vehicle associated with the Sierra Leone Embassy in Guinea.
Yumkella made it clear that Bangura is currently under investigation both locally and internationally for serious allegations, and has no official standing in Sierra Leone’s government.
“I want people in Kambia to know that, as a senior stakeholder in Kambia, a senior government official, and one of the advisers to the President, I must inform you that Alimamy has no official capacity in this government. He is under investigation for serious crimes he is alleged to have committed,” Yumkella said. He also stressed that no one should listen to Bangura in any official capacity until the investigation is concluded and his name cleared.
Dr. Yumkella went on to add that Bangura should step aside from all political and non-political activities related to governance. “Alimamy should step aside from anything relevant to governance. Right now, he is a nobody. He is an alleged criminal. He should focus on clearing his name. If he is innocent, let the investigation prove it. If not, he will face the consequences of his actions,” Yumkella stated.
The former Ambassador, who was once a notable figure in Sierra Leone’s diplomatic circles, has allegedly been attempting to influence the local government in Kambia. Yumkella made it clear that his actions would not be tolerated.
“Alimamy, I am advising you to hands off Kambia completely. If you do not, I have informed senior government officials at the highest level of governance, and if necessary, the government will take further steps,” Yumkella warned.
Yumkella emphasized that he is speaking out in his own capacity as a senior citizen of Sierra Leone, and that the gravity of the alleged crimes committed by Bangura cannot be ignored.
This just proved that he’s guilty of the drug crime and Yumkella knows it but they can’t say it out to the public.
The truth shall prevail one day
