Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara has declared his earnest intention to vie for the All People’s Congress (APC) Flagbearer position for the upcoming 2028 general elections.
Kamara, who is popular known as JFK in the political realm, had once contended for the same APC Flagbearer position with the former leader of the APC, Dr. Samura Kamara. In a thirst for the APC Flagbearer in 2018 elections, JFK was deemed as a formidable contender and a threat to the then flagbearer, Dr. Kamara.
As one of the Key APC Players, he gained national renown when President Ernest Bai Koroma tapped him to carry out his key initiative of stamping out corruption, by heading the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
In his recent declaration made in one of the APC’s strongest thresholds, Port Loko, tensions have sparked within the party resulting in intense dialogue relating to the APC’s leadership trajectory as the party strategizes for the upcoming elections.
Despite his loss to Samura Kamara in the contest of flagbearer for the previous election, JFK, seems optimistic of his success in the forthcoming contest for a party leader. He is best known as an associate of the then-President, Ernest Bai Koroma.
