Saidu Turay popularly known as Big Z has won the All People’s Congress (APC) party Councillor Primaries at Dwarzark Community in Freetown.

Turay defeated three other aspirants after polling a total of 14 votes out of the 24 delegates.

His closest rival, Abubakarr Bangura polled 7 votes.

Turay is said to be a seasoned grassroot politician in Dwarzark, New England Ville and Sumaila Town communities.

His winning did not come as shock to many in the ward because of his active role in politics.

Speaking after the announcement of the result, Turay thanked God and appreciated locals of ward 435 for the confidence they repose in him.

Turay contested for the same symbol in 2017 but lost. He said that lost gave him a summed up courage to vie for the same position again this year.

Big Z affirmed that he has always been a supporter of the APC and added that he believes in the party.

The newly elected APC Councillor contestant encouraged his opponents to support him and the party at large so that they can return to State House.
