The National Secretariat of the All People’s Congress (APC) has announced that the party leadership has successfully concluded two high-level consultative meetings with its elected representatives at both parliamentary and local government levels.
According to the Secretariat, the meetings were held at the party’s national headquarters at 11A Old Railway Line in Freetown and focused on deliberations regarding the prevailing political situation in the country and the status of the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee.
The first meeting took place on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, between the APC leadership and sitting Members of Parliament, including nominated MPs whose names are currently on the list held by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL).
A second meeting followed on Thursday, March 12, 2026, bringing together the party leadership and APC elected officials in local government. Participants included mayors, district council chairpersons, councilors, and nominated councilors from across the country.
The party said both engagements were well attended and marked by what it described as frank, responsible, and comradely deliberations, reflecting the APC’s tradition of consultation, unity, and institutional discipline.
Following extensive discussions, the APC National Secretariat disclosed that the party’s parliamentary representatives and local government officials unanimously reaffirmed their endorsement of the leadership’s decision to withdraw participation from all engagements with the government.
The statement indicated that the decision was informed by what the party described as the government’s continued lack of demonstrable commitment toward implementing the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee, which were established to improve the credibility of future elections in Sierra Leone.
The meeting also saw a collective reaffirmation of loyalty to the party by sitting and nominated Members of Parliament, as well as mayors, district council chairpersons, councilors, and nominated councilors, who pledged their support for the leadership’s stance.
The APC further stated that the decision reflects what it described as the determination of the majority of Sierra Leoneans to ensure that the sovereign mandate of the people is protected. The party maintained that the events surrounding the 2023 elections remain a painful reminder of how the will of the people can be undermined when electoral processes are manipulated.
According to the party, the 2023 electoral process, which it said faced widespread criticism for lack of transparency and credibility, raised concerns about the integrity of democratic institutions both domestically and internationally.
The APC emphasized that meaningful electoral reforms, particularly the full and timely implementation of the Tripartite Committee recommendations, are essential to restoring public confidence in the country’s democratic system.
The National Secretariat also commended the unity, discipline, and solidarity demonstrated by the party’s elected representatives across all levels of governance, describing their collective stance as a reflection of the APC’s commitment to democratic accountability.
The party leadership has called on its members, supporters, and sympathizers both in Sierra Leone and in the diaspora to remain calm, steadfast, and united as the party continues to pursue lawful and democratic means to ensure that the will of the people is respected and that the country’s democracy is protected.
The APC said further updates will be communicated through the party’s official channels.

Let them sit, I advised that they should also boycott 2028 elections.
