The National Secretary General of the opposition All Peoples Congress (APC), lawyer Lansana Dumbuya has recently dismissed rumours making the rounds on social media that the party’s national executive had received money amounted to two million United States Dollars (US$2m) as a bribe and sellout from President Bio for the June 24, 2023 general elections.

Lawyer Lansana Dumbuya made this statement in Kailahun District recently during the launching of the party’s nationwide membership registration and verification exercise. The said allegation has also been dismissed by the National Deputy Publicity Secretary and other senior members of the party.

Despite their denial, other national executive members are still pointing accusing fingers at the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Kamara for also receiving a huge sum of money as a bribe from President Bio during a secret meeting they had after the announcement of the controversial June 24 2023 general election results.

According to the APC National Secretary General, rumours and speculations doing the rounds that the party leadership was bribed by President Bio are not only false and baseless but are a calculated ploy to discredit and dent their images as members of the national executive.

He also advised members and supporters of the APC to strictly follow and listen to the party’s official communication channels of the office of the National Publicity Secretary. Meanwhile, the APC scribe disclosed that the party’s national executive is currently focused on what could be done to reclaim power, come 2028 as the 2023 elections are done and dusted.
