Basita Michael blasts Dr. Samura Wilson Kamara the presidential aspirant for All People’s Congress following a statement the Presidential candidate made in Kambia during addressing a large APC crowd.

Dr. Kamara was answering to question he asked from the crowd about what they wanted him to do for them? The crowd replied by saying we want price control. The presidential Candidate then said that those women who wanted to marry and haven’t done so yet will be provided with a man that will control them. He also said the women that needed a man and didn’t have one; they will control the price of the men so that they will have men. He ended saying it will be expensive.

This message as in a video was circulated around social media and other platforms. Basita Michael who is also the Founder of Sierraeye Magazine and Sierraeye Debate made a very strong comment on her social media pages.

She wrote: “The response of Dr. Samura Kamara, the APC Presidential candidate, to a legitimate question about price control was deeply regrettable. It is vital for every presidential candidate to carefully consider their choice of words and the tone they use. The condescending and disrespectful manner in which he addressed his own constituent and women in general is truly concerning. The question regarding price control deserved a thoughtful and respectful response, which unfortunately was not provided. It is imperative for all candidates to demonstrate sensitivity towards the economic struggles faced by the majority of women who bear the responsibility of managing household finances in our country. Let us prioritize empathy and understanding as we engage with the concerns of our fellow citizens”.
