President Julius Maada Bio who doubles as the leader of the ruling Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP), has appointed Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh as Chairman of the party’s Constitutional Review Committee.

President Bio made this disclosure when he informed the National Chairman and Secretary General of their Party about his decision to appoint David Moinina Sengeh as Chairman of the SLPP Constitutional Review Committee.

The decision of President Bio came after the SLPP National Executive Council (NEC) which is the second highest decision-making body of the party unanimously moved a motion to review the 2020 amended SLPP National Constitution on the 15th December, 2023.

The appointment of Sengeh as Chairman of this important committee shows the SLPP is ready to adopt radically inclusive reforms that will position the SLPP as a progressive social democratic party.
