With barely a week into the 2023 multitier election, the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone has released the list of candidates and political parties that will contest in Karene District, Northern Sierra Leone.

Three political parties will be represented in both local and parliamentary elections.

The Commission announced that the three parties that will be contesting in the district include the Revolutionary United Front Party (RUFP), Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and All People’s Congress (APC) Party.

In the local council chairmanship election, Sahr Mbayoh will represent the RUFP, Theresa Saccoh will represent the SLPP and Abdul Kandeh Turay to represent the APC.

The Commission also released other list for other districts.

In another news, Muslim pilgrims voted for their presidential candidate on Thursday across all 16 districts in the country.
