Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh made a bold promise on Friday evening to serve dependably in his second term.
“I am honoured to serve my country again, and I pledge to remain the able and dependable Vice President and ally of His Excellency Julius Maada Bio for the next five years,” Jalloh said.
He added that the Government is ready to continue their work to better the nation and local population.
The Vice President took his Oath of Office on Thursday following President Julius Maada Bio’s victory over 12 other presidential candidates in Sierra Leone’s presidential election.
The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) said Bio won with 56 percent avoiding a runoff for the first time since erstwhile president Ernest Bai Koroma in 2012.
Bio was sworn in hours after the result for announced by the country’s Electoral Commission on Tuesday.
The main opposition party, All People’s Congress (APC) contested the results with international observers citing glitches like transparency lacking.
