The debates  on the current EBK Audio-gate is, unsurprisingly, shaped by the usual political myopia  that has crippled political debate in our nation. Both EBK & Samura Camps robotically blame each other with absolute oblivion to the toxic politics at play. Ascertaining  cogent deductions in this matter is not rocket science because glaring pointers scream at any astute listener. So,  what’s the crux of the audio ? What’s its motive & rationale behind the choice of the interviewer? what sober conclusions can be drawn?

from national politics are the two new revelations in the lengthy audio; the rest are well known updates that have already been widely circulated. So, the main point of this lenghty audio was not to update the audience on EBK’s retirement from national politics or reason for his temporary exit to Nigeria but  EBK’s   personal account of APC’s political story directly to APC members.

2. What, based on content, is the motive of audio’s subjects ?

EBK knows there’ll be no transfer of power now but he intentionally used the audio as a conduit to directly drive the final nail in Samura’s political coffin by exploiting his overwhelming influence in APC to tactically present Samura as a nefarious betrayer of APC; thereby making Samura unelectable in pending APC flagbearer contest. The interviewer happily accepted EBK’s invitation to chat in order to crudely raise his personal standing within the party

3. Why was the  interviewer ( MS Bangura) specifically & desperately chosen by EBK?

EBK  is an experienced & expedient political manipulator &  crafty political strategist who was fully aware of the academic & technological mediocrity of the interviewer; so he cleverly opted for a chat with  him to fully exploit the man’s weaknesses and make the achievement of his covert motive a lot easier.

4. What lateral conclusions can be drawn?

The two attendants with the interviewer did not suddenly appear in the audio; they intentionally connived with EBK to pre-plan the interview. This is why when Mr Bangura informed EBK of two other people with him during the audio conversation,  EBK never protested! He knew they were there & had already instructed them  to covertly record and subsequently circulate the audio without interviewer’s knowledge. Secondly , by using a Samura supporter to denigrate Samura, EBK intended & intends  to sow seeds of division, confusion & distrust within the Samura Camp.  This way EBK can easily exonerate himself, implicitly implicate the interviewer for the leak and , most importantly,  relegate Samura to the dustbins of political history for daring to disrespect him via the obscenities inflicted on him by Samura’s activists.

Most importantly,  EBK’s revelations about his flight  to Nigeria does not take any intelligent African political analyst aback. Sylvia Blyden had already exposed his deep & unscrupulous connections in dodgy money laundering activities with Qatari & Nigerian entities. Obviously, EBK’s trial could have opened up a pandora’s box on such massive scandals with serious & horrid impact on the  nations involved. So ECOWAS’s role in removing EBK from Sierra Leone had less to do with the much vaunted talk of peace-building and much more to do with masking the network of murky, corrupt &  mind-boggling deals amongst African leaders and foreign entities that continue  render our so-called SOVEREIGNTY totally useless.
