The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate, Prince Coker has said that he will win the 2023 presidential election without run off.
“We believe as a party we will win the election come June 2024,” he said.
He also peomised that there will be no runoff.
Coker said that he is running for the Presidency because he has the desire to help women and youth.
“I believe in empowering women and youth who are largely unemployed,” he said.
He did not agree or disagree that he could form an alliance with other parties. He said that no party has a stronghold in this election and added the elections will be one of surprise.
The PDP Presidential Candidate said if they happened to lose the election they will accept their fate and work in the interest of the nation.
“We are in this game to build the nation and not our personal interest,” Coker said.
Coker said Sierra Leoneans are not happy with the incumbent SLPP and main opposition APC who have ruled the country since independence.
Coker promised that his party will work towards maintaining the peace ahead of the polls.
“I am making a strong promise. We will campaign peacefully and we will advice our supporters to be peaceful as well,” he said.
The PDP Party was formed in the 1990s and made significant gains in the 1996 Presidential election with Thaimu Bangura.
The party has however struggled since the death of Bangura in 1999.
