Of all the 13 Political parties for the June 24, 2023 general elections, only 9 of them has parliamentary candidates. 4 of them do not have.

The National Grand Coalition (NGC) candidates were nominated in seven districts; Falaba, Kambia, Koinadugu, Port Loko, Western Area Rural and Western Area Urban.

People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) was nominated in six districts; Pujehun, Bo, Kenema, Moyamba, Kailahun and Kono.

Individually, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and National Unity and Reconciliation Party (NURP) nominated candidates in only three districts. The NURP in Bo, Kono and Moyamba and the NDA in Kambia, Falaba and Koinadugu.

The Republic National Independent Party (ReNIP) nominated candidates in Falaba and Koinadugu districts only. Whilst the three remaining political parties were nominated in only one district across the country.

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was nominated in Western Area Urban, People’s Liberation Party (PLP) in Western Area Rural and Revolutionary United Front Party (RUFP) in Karene.

In total 914 candidates were nominated by the ten political parties and 29 independent candidates also completed their nominations.
