Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco Embaló has extended his congratulations to President Julius Maada Bio on his successful re-election as President of Sierra Leone in the June 24, 2023 polls.

Expressing his admiration for President Maada Bio’s resounding victory, President Embaló took to Twitter to convey his warm congratulations.

In his tweet, President Embaló stated, “My warm congratulations to the President of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio for his resounding victory. All my best wishes for a prosperous mandate at the head of the country in the service of the people of Sierra Leone.”

 

Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embaló, a prominent Bissau-Guinean politician, has been serving as the President of Guinea-Bissau since February 2020. Adding to his significant role, President Embaló assumed the position of Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in July 2022.
