The Chief Coordinator of the female football club owners’ pre-season competition, Mahmoud Kargbo, has confirmed that eight clubs, including two foreign teams, are set to compete for this year’s championship and the winner will go home with a whooping 20 Million Old Leones.
Kargbo declared that the champions of the 2023 female football club owners’ pre-season competition will be consented to a cash prize of Twenty Thousand Leones (NLe 20,000), charitably pledged by Haja Ramatulai Kamara, a member of the Sierra Leone Football Association Executive Committee and Head of Female Football.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on September 2nd, with Ram K Football Club facing Stages Queens in the early match at 2:30 p.m. Later at 4:30 pm, Mogbwemo Queens FC will take on Malema Queens FC, with all matches taking place at the Kenema City field.
Kargbo disclosed that the eight participating teams have been divided into two groups as follows:
Group A:
Stages Queens from Liberia
Reigning champions of the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League, Mogbwemo Queens FC
Malema Queens
Ram K FC
Group B:
Club Olympique de Ratoma (C.O.R) from Guinea
Runner-up of the maiden Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League, Kahunla Queens FC
FC Kallon Female
Tulane Queens
