British-Sierra Leonean Striker, Abu Kamara marked his first match for Hull City on Friday night.

The Tigers lost by 2 goals to nil to last season Premier League side, Sheffield United at the MKM stadium. Hull currently sit in 19th position with just 3 points after 5 matches in the 2024-25 campaign.

Kamara, who was signed on deadline day from Norwich City, has a huge responsibility at just age 21 to assist the Tigers avoid relegation from the English Championship to League One this season. The 6-feet striker had a successful campaign last season while on loan at Portsmouth by finding the net eight times in 46 appearances.

Speaking on Thursday’s pre-match conference, the striker said that many teams showed interest in him but chose Hull after he “spoke to the manager” and “was excited about the project”. He added that Hull is a big club and excited to play for them against the Blades in the first Yorkshire derby this season

The Lambeth-born striker has been linked to the Sierra Leone national team that is currently struggling in this year’s AFCON Qualifiers. Local football pundits are hopeful that the youngster, who has already made his U-20 debut for England, could be convinced to represent the green, white and blue when Sierra Leone play the African champions, Ivory Coast in about a month’s time.
