Alieu Adjust Kamara has given the Sierra Leone National U20 (Shooting Stars) their first win in the ongoing Zonal U20 Tournament against their Liberian counterparts in Monrovia.
The Shooting Stars are now with five points out of three matches played with two goals and one conceded.
His goal is the second for shooting stars in the Tournaments following Samuel Ghandi openers in their last match against their opponents.
Adjust was introduced in the second half as way of adjusting the team’s approach towards the match and the 19 years old lad scored the only goal that created the difference for Sierra Leone, helping his team to edge Liberia by 1 nil.
Kamara’s performance has transformed since his time with the U-17 team, as he has transitioned to the U-20 team. His impact on the game has been notable, as evidenced by his ability to create instant impact with his dribbling and mobility skills, which helped his perfect finish from a brilliant assist from Samba Juma Bah in the 90+3 minute.
His development as a player is evident in his ability to make meaningful contributions to the team’s success, and his performance has earned him recognition, including the man of the match award. It’s clear that Alieu has continued to grow and improve as a player, and his success with the U-20 team reflects his dedication and skill on the field.
While the Shooting Stars U20 team displayed excellent skills, there is room for improvement in their execution of vertical passes and in their performance within the final third of the pitch ahead of their final match which is scheduled for Sunday 25th February,2024 at the Samuel K, Doe Stadium.
The tournament is serving as a platform to detect young footballers to represent Sierra Leone and neighboring Liberia on an international.
