Middlesbrough Coach Micheal Carrick has revealed that their new Signing, Alex Bangura appears to have suffered from an ham-string injury in his debut match.
The left-back was forced to miss the game on Tuesday evening after his Boro debut ended prematurely on Saturday. After that Blackburn Rovers defeat Carrick had said that he hoped it would just be cramp, and was still awaiting test results when he last spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday evening’s trip to Hillsborough.
The defender made his Boro debut on Saturday in a defeat at Blackburn after his summer move from Dutch side SC Cambuur. The Sierra Leone international struggled to make much of an impact before he was forced off in the 69th minute.
Bangura was one of two players absent through injury at Sheffield Wednesday, with Marus Forss also missing the game with what Carrick described as a thigh injury. In both cases he claimed he didn’t yet know the extent, but both players are important players to lose during a tough period for the club as their wait for a first league win stretched to a seventh game.
