According to popular sports reporter Hawa Dauda, Bo Rangers, the reigning champions of the 2023/2024 Sierra Leone Premier League, have yet to receive their sponsorship prize money, despite the season concluding in June 2024.
The delay has raised serious concerns among club officials and fans, as the club awaits funds crucial for its operations and player welfare, she added.
Sources close to Bo Rangers confirm that the club has made several inquiries regarding the payment, but no clear response has been provided by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) or the Premier League Board.
The situation has fueled growing frustrations, with many questioning the transparency and financial management of the league’s administration.
A senior club official, speaking anonymously, expressed concern over the delay. “Bo Rangers fulfilled all league obligations and won the title on merit,” the official said. “It is disappointing that after months of waiting, we are yet to receive what was promised. The authorities must explain why this is happening.”
The official further added that delayed payments not only affect Bo Rangers but also raise broader questions about the financial stability of the league and how sponsorship funds are being managed.
Fans and stakeholders are now urging the SLFA and the Premier League Board to provide clarity on the issue.
