The newly crowned Sierra Leone Premier League Champions, Bo Rangers will be participating in the West Africa Champions Trophy in Conakry, Guinea.
The champions received their invitation to participate in the second edition of the competition that will feature league champions of other West African countries.
The Project Coordinator, Alpha Mady Toure said the competition is geared towards the preparation of West African clubs before the start of the CAF Champions League later this year.
“It is for us to improve the performances of clubs in the West African zone, whose only flagbearer to date remain Horoya AC of Guinea,” Toure said.
This is the second edition of the competition with Horoya AC defeating Casa Sports of Senegal 2-1 in the maiden edition.
The second edition will see an addition of more football clubs than the four that participated previously.
Bo Rangers are currently in fine form in the Sierra Leone Premier League with a 30-game unbeaten run so far.
The Southern Region football club won their second consecutive league title about a week ago becoming the first team outside Freetown to win the competition back-to-back.
