Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) is preparing to shine a spotlight on women’s cricket with a series of events marking ICC Women’s Cricket Week 2025. From 29th September to 1st October, the three-day celebration will take place across seven regions, bringing together nine selected girls’ primary and secondary schools.
The initiative will feature Cricket Awareness Programmes, Coaching Clinics, and School Cricket Festivals, aiming to encourage more girls to participate in sports and raise awareness of women’s cricket in the country.
Regions set to benefit include Western Area Urban, Western Area Rural, Bo District in the Southern Region, Tonkolili District (Magburaka), Bombali District (Makeni), Port Loko District (Lunsar), and Kenema District.
A team of 50 development officers and coaches will lead the activities, supporting schools in fostering physical activity and nurturing young talent.
CSL says the programme reflects its ongoing commitment to developing cricket at the grassroots level while promoting greater inclusion of girls in the sport.
