Didier Yves Drogba Tebily former Chelsea and Ivory Coasts captain has endorsed Sierra Leone’s Football for Peace initiative ahead of his visit.
The Ivorian born global football icon held talks in Abidjan with Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Madam Isha Johansen over the Mano River Football for Peace Initiative.
Drogba happens to be a patron of the initiative.
The Initiative launched two weeks ago in Sierra Leone in the presence of the Guest of Honour, FIFA General Secretary Madam Fatma Samoura.
The motive behind the setting up of the Football for Peace Initiative is to kick start a pledge through FIFA to strengthen economic and development ties between the sub-regional countries ( Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and Ivory Coast) by using football as a common force of peace and reconciliation.
