Easy Solar, one of West Africa’s leading last-mile distributors and solar energy providers, has established free solar-powered viewing centers across Waterloo, Bo, and Makeni.
Coining the phrase #TakeDiGameToDem, Easy Solar has enabled football-loving fans to watch live, uninterrupted football games in the ongoing World Cup Tournament in Qatar.
Shanice George, Head of Marketing at Easy Solar, disclosed that their main objective is to provide access for communities to watch the World Cup.
“We’re taking the games to the people so everyone can experience the fun without worrying about power cuts or interruptions.” she said and noted that matches will be screened live, courtesy of DStv and that they are also partnering with Sierra Leone Brewery for cold drinks to be served from their Solar freezers.
The viewing centers have drawn crowds of over 2,000 people across each location since the start of the tournament.
This is a huge success for Easy Solar, who have empowered hundreds of people to watch live games, including their esteemed customers.
The experience itself is immersive and powered by 100% renewable energy from solar panels and a solar generator in one of their locations —a first-of-its-kind in Sierra Leone.
This unique experience raises awareness and stresses the importance of switching to renewable energies that protect the environment and cost-saving alternatives.
“We’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished here, bringing these viewing centers at scale with zero harm to the environment through solar,” said Shanice George.
Speaking in a joyous mood about how happy he is with Easy Solar, Thaimu Sesay maintained that he could not afford to pay to watch the World Cup, but with the intervention of Easy Solar in collaboration with DStv, he can now enjoy viewing the games free of charge.
Other youths, Salifu Kamara, Amadu Jalloh, and Christopher Sesay, made similar sentiments. They noted, among other things, that they cannot thank Easy Solar enough for thinking about the people in Waterloo who want to watch the World Cup games but are constrained for lack of money.
He thanked the management of Easy Solar and its partners for giving them such an entertainment boost at a time when things are not too financially rosy in the country.
The World Cup falls within Easy Solar’s two-month-long Festive promotion that launched from 1st November to 31st December 2022.
To participate in the promo, prospective customers who buy any Easy Solar TV on cash or credit plans are automatically eligible to win exciting monthly prizes and the grand draw prize this year being one of three brand-new Kekehs!
