Sierra Leonean midfielder and winger Emmanuel Samadia has officially extended his contract with Hartford Athletic, committing to the USL Championship side until 2026.

The former FC Kallon star has been a key player for the club since his arrival, making 89 appearances between 2020 and 2023, contributing 10 assists and scoring 2 goals.

Samadia’s impact on the field extends beyond club football. Since making his debut for the Sierra Leone national team in 2020 against Niger, he has earned 13 international caps.

His most recent contributions include back-to-back assists in crucial matches against Ethiopia and Egypt during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, further solidifying his role as a vital asset for his national team.

Hartford Athletic CEO Nick Sakiewicz praised Samadia’s talent and potential in a statement: “Emmanuel is a young, ambitious player with great potential. He is an exceptional athlete who has shown his quality for his national team against some of Africa’s best teams.”

Before joining Hartford Athletic, Samadia played in Israel’s Liga Leumit, representing Hapoel Umm al-Fahm and Hapoel Rishon leZion, where he helped his team win the Liga Leumit Toto Cup in January 2023.

A native of Freetown, Samadia began his professional career in Sierra Leone with FC Kallon, where he played from 2019 to 2021
