Sierra Leone’s rising star, Georgina Sesay, has made her mark on the Olympic stage by advancing to the Women’s 100m preliminary round.
Sesay achieved this milestone by recording a time of 11.99 seconds in Heat 4, finishing fourth and securing her place in the next stage of the competition.
This accomplishment comes on the heels of her impressive performance at the All-African Games in Accra, Ghana, where she clinched a spot in the 400m final by placing second in the semi-finals with a time of 52.62 seconds.
Her journey in athletics has been notable, including a silver medal at the African U20 Championships held at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. At just 19 years old, Sesay continues to build on her success and make significant strides in her athletics
