The Sierra Leone National Senior Male Team Coach Alhaji Foray has expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to change the course of history by securing their first victory against Ivory Coast.

The last time the two team met was in 2022 when Sierra Leone scored a dramatic equaliser deep into stoppage time to snatch a 2-2 draw against Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nation.
The gaffer expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and the players’ dedication to showcasing their skills on the field. Foray emphasized the significance of the match, highlighting its role in preparing the players for the CHAN competition and the looming AFCON qualifiers in March.
Sierra Leone’s coach Alhaji Foray challenged the Elephants by revealing that “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Cote d’Ivoire play, but we think that Cote d’Ivoire has a good team and it will make a good CAN.” But, we are going to beat Ivory Coast in this friendly match to change the course of history because Sierra Leone has never beat Ivory Coast. We have prepared ourselves well to change the scenario,” he said
Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone Football Association has confirmed another friendly match with the Atlas Lion of Morocco on the 11 January 2023.
With twenty three Players assembled by Coach Foray, Leone Stars have concluded training ahead of today’ s friendly encounter against The Elephants of Ivory Coast.
