The Sierra Leone National Home-based team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Liberia in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) preliminary round held at the SKD Sports Complex in Monrovia.

The return leg is set for Friday, November 1, 2024.

The winner over the two legs will advance to confront Senegal in the final round of qualifiers scheduled for December this year.

CHAN, established since 2009 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is a biennial tournament showcasing the talents of African footballers from their respective national leagues. It serves as a platform for players to exhibit their skills and represent their countries on a continental stage.

Senegal currently reigns as the champions, clinching the title in 2022.
