Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Sports has issued a press release dated 31st January 2022 debunking LAC’s statement on his alleged Le150million donation to Leone Stars.
The release pointed out that the attention of the Ministry of Sports has been drawn to an audio making the rounds on social media purportedly made by one Mr Baimba Moiforay, stating that an amount to the tune of one hundred and fifty million Leones (Le 150,000,000.00), was to be donated to the National Team, Leone Stars in respect of the 2021 AFCON Tournament in Cameroon.
The Ministry make the following clarifications: That it never received the sum of Le 150,000,000 from neither Mr Baimba Moiforay nor any of the persons made mention of in the video;
That the Ministry has never had any dealings or come into contact with Mr Moiforay at any point in time; That the Ministry distances itself from the audio made by Mr Moiforay;
That the Ministry has keenly and with rapt attention listened to the audio and found out that no mention was made of the Ministry receiving the Le 150,000,000.00.
By extension of a copy of this Press Release, the Ministry kindly requested the Inspector General of Police to thoroughly investigate this issue.
The Ministry further wishes to inform the public that a National Sports Development Fund Account has been opened at the Bank of Sierra Leone with the following details:

The release concludes by encouraging Whosoever wants to contribute to the development of Sports in Sierra Leone should do that through the above account and not through any individual.
