Sierra Leone U-19 Cricket team have defeated the Junior Yellow-Greens of Nigeria with a margin of 9-wicket win on match day 2 In the ongoing ICC men’s U-19 Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifiers hosted at the University of Dar Es Salaam Cricket Ground on Monday 24th July 2023.

The West African Derby brings up a huge surprise as Sierra Leone outplayed the Nigerian Team in every department. The Junior Patriots of Sierra Leone have ended their winless run against the Junior.

According to the the CSL Media department, Ibrahim Sesay, Raymond Coker and Aliya came in for 21 overs virtually evenly distributed, and took vital wickets.
Plans well hatched, the Junior Patriots squeezed the Yellow-Greens to 73 runs all out in 27 overs.

Before that, Nigeria’s Paul Pam had made only 22 runs off 45 balls before Selim Salua hit 2 off 7 for 42.86 net run rate.
Replying, Sierra Leone’s Raymond Coker smacked 22 off 55 balls, giving space to Alusine Turay’s 38 off 52.

As Raymond Coker won Player of the Match to seal the day, Sierra Leone will face Kenya on Tuesday, 25th July 2023 and rest on Wednesday before clashing with Namibia on Thursday.
