The Sierra Leone National U-23 team has this afternoon successful had their first training session at the Sunset Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia ahead of Saturday’s return leg against their Zambian counterparts in the ongoing TotalEnergies AFCON U-23 Qualifiers 2023.
Speaking to this medium after training, Head Coach Amidu Karim expressed great optimism about his team following the level of fitness and agility the boys showed during this afternoon’s warmup. “The boys are looking bright and are adapting very well to the weather atmosphere here”.
The team is highly spirited in camp as the boys look forward to the match situation training tomorrow at the main bowl of the designated venue.
The first leg which Sierra Leone played on an artificial home ground in Liberia, owing to the lack of a CAF approved stadium in the country, ended 1-1.
The return leg is scheduled to take place on Saturday October 29, 2022 at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka at 3pm Zambian time and 1pm Sierra Leone time.
