Sierra Leonean cricket, Raymond Coker has been named Player of the Series in the ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier, which recently concluded in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Coker, a promising talent who has already earned a senior call-up, plays for Special Line Cricket Club. His recent performance was instrumental in securing the club’s first major title in the Cricket Sierra Leone 2023 Men’s T20 Premier League.

As captain of the Sierra Leone Under-19 team, Coker led his squad to a runner-up finish in the Africa Division 2 Qualifier. His exceptional leadership and individual contributions were key in the team’s journey. Coker excelled in the group stage, earning two Man of the Match awards: one for his all-round performance against Rwanda, where he claimed 4 wickets for 30 runs, and another for his pivotal role in the semi-final against Nigeria, showcasing his standout bowling skills.

Coker’s stellar performances not only earned him the Player of the Series accolade but also helped propel Sierra Leone’s U-19 team to promotion to Africa Division 1, marking a significant milestone for the country’s cricketing future.
